'Metal Gear Solid 5' news: New costume DLC coming to the game

 Konami

New goodies are coming to "Metal Gear Solid 5" in the form of costumes for some of the characters in the game.

The new costumes will be offered as downloadable content (DLC) for the game.

Snake's new threads allow him to sport a variety of looks. One costume has Snake wearing some fatigues to give him that incomparable tough guy look. Another costume features Snake inside what is called a sneaking suit. For those looking to give the game's main character a little class, there's also a tuxedo set they can purchase for their favorite spy, according to Gamespot.

The Boss and Eva's costumes from "Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater" are also available as new bits of DLC coming to the game.

If those costumes aren't enough, players also have the option of purchasing some new gear for their faithful horses. One option even allows the "Metal Gear Solid 5" horse to feature a look befitting such a noble steed.

Konami announced these new pieces of DLC for "Metal Gear Solid 5" at this year's Tokyo Game Show.

As of now, prices for the costumes have yet to be revealed.

In related news, fans may want to fork over the extra cash for those new costumes since they may not be getting that much more "Metal Gear Solid" content in the future.

According to French gaming site, Gameblog, and subsequently reported by Eurogamer, "Metal Gear Solid 5" may be the last major entry for the franchise.

Konami has reportedly halted production on all of their triple-A titles aside from "Pro Evolution Soccer" and that roughly translates to a distinct possibility that "Metal Gear Solid 5" is indeed the last of its kind.

The latest news comes on top of "Metal Gear Solid" creator, Hideo Kojima, leaving Konami, leading many to believe that the best days of the iconic video game franchise may indeed be over.
