'Metal Gear Online' news: Open beta for the game's PC port now available

"Metal Gear Online" is now finally available for personal computers (PC).

To be more specific, it's just an open beta of "Metal Gear Online" that is currently available for the PC, but fans will likely not have any complaints, seeing how that would seemingly mean that the game will be coming in full to the new platform soon enough.

Word that the open beta would be making its way to PCs was first announced during a recent Twitch stream, and not long after that, "Metal Gear Online" community manager Robert Peeler confirmed the news on Steam, GameSpot reported.

Peeler also revealed that the development team would be on hand to provide any support needed to ensure that the open beta rollout goes as planned.

The PC port of "Metal Gear Online" has been a long time coming as well. PC players have had to endure some delays while they also had to watch console gamers getting the chance to enjoy the game on their preferred platforms.

Unlike with the PC port, the console versions of "Metal Gear Online" were launched not long after "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" itself was released.

It's unclear exactly why the PC version of "Metal Gear Online" had to be delayed as much as it has been, though players are likely just glad to have the game finally available to them.

"Metal Gear Online" comes with a few offerings such as Bounty Hunter and Cloak and Dagger that should appease PC players, according to PC Gamer.

Game developer and publisher Konami has also previously indicated that they will continue to provide support for "Metal Gear Online" moving forward.

As evidence of this, Konami has pledged to continually add even more maps to the game, and there may even be new modes added in the future.

More news about "Metal Gear Online" should be made available in the future.
