Alongside Huawei MediaPad X2, the company has also unveiled its MediaPad M2 to supplement its tablet lineup. When consumers decide to take a comparison test between MediaPad X2 and MediaPad M2, the first thing that they will notice is the screen size. While both slates render the 1920 by 1200 resolution, MediaPad M2 has a screen size of 8 inches, which is an inch larger compared to MediaPad X2. Both products get their processing performance from Huawei's own Kirin 930 SoC. Huawei has not incorporated a Cortex-A57 processor in MediaPad X2 since it consumes more power compared to actually delivering the necessary amount of performance.

Instead, MediaPad X2 features four Cortex-A53e cores and four Cortex-A53 cores in order to properly balance out performance and energy efficiency. While processor details have not been mentioned in MediaPad M2, it is possible that Huawei followed the same suit as the company's previously announced tablet. MediaPad M2 only features 2 GB of RAM, while MediaPad X2 features a maximum of 3 GB RAM (if the consumer purchases the 32 GB on-board memory model).

MediaPad X2 will also be able to provide additional battery life compared to MediaPad M2, since it is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery compared to the 4,800 mAh battery incorporated in the newly announced tablet. Additionally, MediaPad X2 features a better rear camera sensor (13 MP in comparison to MediaPad M2's 8 MP rear shooter).

Both tablets will allow storage expansion capabilities up to a limit of 128 GB and both of them will be running the Android 5.0 update out of the box. In order to cater to those consumers who are constantly on the move, a Wi-Fi only, and a Wi-Fi + LTE model will be sold. However, in terms of LTE connectivity performance, MediaPad X2 features a Cat 6 LTE modem, compared to a Cat 4 LTE one present on MediaPad M2.

When the two tablets are placed against one another, it can become a very difficult purchasing decision, since there are only a small amount of differences in each category which divide the two products apart. Regardless, since MediaPad X2 will be the better purchase, due to the possession of a larger battery, better rear camera sensor and better LTE modem.
