LA Clippers trade rumors: Is a Blake Griffin trade in the works?

The Los Angeles Clippers and Blake Griffin have enjoyed a pretty successful partnership thus far, but rumors currently suggest that a trade could be made, perhaps even as early as this season.

While Griffin has undoubtedly been one of the Clippers' best players, there are rumors going around recently, suggesting that the team may be looking to trade their young forward.

Rumors about the Clippers potentially trading Griffin have become even more prevalent after the forward was involved in a physical altercation with a friend who also happened to be an equipment manager for the team.

The altercation led to Griffin breaking a bone in his hand, and it's an injury serious enough that he may have to sit out another two months, The Inquisitr reported.

The Clippers will most likely welcome Griffin back when he recovers, especially given how productive the young forward can be, but still, rumors insist that the team is also looking at potential trades involving the former All-Star.

One potential trade that the Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly willing to make involves sending Griffin to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Kevin Durant, according to sources spoken to by Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.

A trade like that could shake up the National Basketball (NBA) landscape, and it's just one of the many potential deals that are being thrown around that involve Griffin.

Other rumors suggest that Griffin could be heading east, possibly to the New York Knicks or the Cleveland Cavaliers, while others predict that he will be dealt to another Western Conference squad.

The Los Angeles Clippers will most likely be best served to deeply contemplate the potential pros and cons of any Griffin trade.

Griffin's a superstar talent, and those players rarely ever become available by trade.

If the Los Angeles Clippers are looking to trade Griffin this season, then the one thing they need to ensure is that they get back fair value for their young superstar.
