'Left 4 Dead 3' release date: 2017 launch possible?

"Left 4 Dead 3," the next entry in the popular zombie shooter franchise, reportedly has a release date attached to it.

According to Express UK, the next game in the franchise is reportedly on track to be launched some time in 2017.

Unfortunately, the website did not indicate who their sources were for the supposed release date, so it's difficult to determine just how accurate it can be.

Another factor that makes assigning credibility to the apparent leak difficult is the fact that "Left 4 Dead 3" is a Valve game.

As Softpedia noted, Valve is not known for leaking any details about their games. The company is also famously secretive about its plans even when it comes to some of their most highly sought after titles, so a sudden change in that regard would be stunning to say the least.

For example, the often talked about "Half-Life 3" still largely remains a mystery despite the fact that fans have been trying to find out anything significant about it for years. That details about any game from Valve are always scarce is a tribute to the company's security, and that same level of protectiveness appears to also be assigned to "Left 4 Dead 3."

In reality, it's hard to really find any piece of evidence that would suggest that "Left 4 Dead 3" is coming soon, although there are still some things worth looking at.

For instance, the last game in the "Left 4 Dead" franchise was released back in 2009, so it's definitely been a while for fans of the zombie shooter.

Given the long wait, it would make sense for "Left 4 Dead 3" to come out sooner rather than later, especially now that its developers theoretically have had enough time to create it properly.

The long lay-off has also helped to further gamer interest in "Left 4 Dead 3," so releasing it soon could be a lucrative proposition for Valve.

At this point, "Left 4 Dead 3" is still a mystery, but there is hope that more clarity regarding the game's fate could be coming soon.
