Jordin Sparks gives birth to son after sharing Isaiah Bible verse with her millions of followers

Former "American Idol" star Jordin Sparks welcomed a son with husband Dana Isaiah on Wednesday, May 2, at 9:04 p.m. at the Natural Birth Center and Women's Wellness in Los Angeles.

Nicknamed DJ, the baby boy is his daddy's junior, who measured at 21 and 1/2 inches and weighed 8 lbs. 4.5 oz. at birth.

"Dana caught him with my midwife, Simona," Sparks shared to People. "When he handed him to me, I was absolutely overwhelmed with joy," she added. "He was and is everything we imagined."

Just weeks before DJ's birth, Sparks posted a video on Instagram where DJ's father was kissing her baby bump. The "No Air" singer quoted part of Isaiah 46 to caption the moment: "I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age."

Sparks and Isaiah announced the pregnancy last November and confirmed that they had a quiet wedding in July in Hawaii with only a small number of friends as witnesses. The couple bonded over their faith as Christians and also clicked together because they both come from closed-knit families, according to People magazine.

Isaiah's mother was actually asking help from Sparks to convince her son not to move to Los Angeles, where he wanted to pursue a career in modeling. He ended up dating her instead.

Sparks revealed to People that she knew she would marry Isaiah the first time they met. The couple did not move in together until they actually became husband and wife.

But soon after they got married, Sparks was shocked to learn that she was pregnant. Caught by surprise by how fast things were moving, Sparks admitted she bawled over the pregnancy news.

Today, the singer says she is content with her life with her husband and new baby. She proudly shared her son's first photo to her followers on Instagram as well.
