Huawei Honor 7 Plus release date: specs, features leaked

 Twitter

Last month, rising Chinese smartphone firm Huawei unveiled its phablet sized Honor 6 Plus and before that, the company announced a trio of smartphones named P8, P8 Lite and P8 Max. Now, Huawei has been rumored to be working on the successor of Honor 6 Plus called Honor 7 Plus. According to GSMArena, the smartphone is rumored to feature the company's Kirin 930, which is going to be running an octa-core processor.

It should be noted that Huawei's MediaPad X2 was also running Kirin 930, but instead of a quad-core Cortex-A57 processor, Huawei used a less performing but far more energy efficient Cortex-A53e in order to properly balance out speed and battery life. The company has not stated details on whether Honor 7 Plus will feature a Cortex-A57 or a Cortex-A53e. The handset will feature a 5.5 inch screen size, with a crisp resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels. While battery life will be severely reduced with the increased resolution, a 4,000 mAh battery present inside the phablet sized device will provide sufficient battery life.

Similar to Honor 6 Plus, the upcoming handset will feature 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory (for the base model). While the on-board storage might be a little on the less side, Huawei will most likely add a microSD slot, allowing smartphone to increase their device's overall capacity up to a limit of 128 GB. The source has not stated which Wi-Fi adapter will be present inside Honor 7 Plus, but seeing as how the handset's predecessor was assimilated with an 802.11 n wireless adapter, it can be assumed that Honor 7 Plus will be armed with an 802.11 ac adapter.

Additionally, the phone will also support LTE connectivity through an LTE Cat 6 modem. Compared to Honor 6 Plus, Honor 7 Plus will be given a camera sensor upgrade as the device will feature a 16 MP rear camera sensor along with a 13 MP front shooter. Huawei will also be preparing a smaller version of its Honor 7 Plus, which will sport a twin-lens rear camera. Unfortunately, there are no pricing details available for either one of the smartphones at the moment.

Huawei will most likely make the necessary announcements during the end of 2015.
