The long wait is just about over as "Halo 5: Guardians" has now officially gone gold.
For those who may be unfamiliar with the video game parlance, going gold basically means that the game is now ready and has now been sent to manufacturers. From there, the manufacturers will start producing the discs that fans will eventually buy, according to IGN.
The game's head of internal development, Josh Holmes, was the one to break the news of "Halo 5: Guardians" going gold.
Holmes expressed pride and excitement over the game finally being completed. He also talked about how "Halo 5: Guardians" is the product of three years of hard work from everyone involved in the project.
Holmes also provided some details about the upcoming game.
He talked about the multiplayer content update that is expected to be ready before the game officially launches. Holmes indicated that the update will be responsible for providing more content for the game's Arena Multiplayer and also the much-hyped 12 versus 12 Warzone Multiplayer.
"Halo 5: Guardians" going gold is not the only relevant bit of recent news that has come out about the game.
A new official infographic for "Halo 5: Guardians" is also providing players with some insight into what they can expect from the new game, such as how long it will take to complete its campaign.
According to Eurogamer, the infographic indicates that the game's campaign mode can be finished in around eight to 12 hours, or at least that would be the case if it is played at the normal difficulty setting. The campaign mode will be made up of 15 different missions.
Other interesting details included in the newly-released infographic are specifics regarding the game's multiplayer mode. The infographic indicates that there will be 21 multiplayer maps available from day one. There will then be more than 18 other multiplayer maps coming after "Halo 5: Guardians" has been released.
"Halo 5: Guardians" will be released on Oct. 27.
