Folks who have pre-ordered the Nexus 5X from Google are now getting charged as shipment of the smartphone are set to begin.

Some people have been caught off guard by the sudden charges as they were previously informed that they would not be docked for the payments until the units were actually ready to ship, Tech Times reported.

The people who have already been charged for their pre-orders have already started asking around to see if they may have been the only ones who have been affected, although it appears that Google has already started taking payments from more than a few accounts.

It's worth noting that the Nexus 5X is currently scheduled to start shipping on Oct. 22, so at the very least, it looks as though Google is on track in terms of their distribution.

For those who may not have pre-ordered the Nexus 5X, they will be glad to know that the new smartphone is now officially on sale, according to The Verge.

Initially, the Nexus 5X is available in only a few markets, and that list includes Canada, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom, and also the United States. Markets such as Asia, Latin America, and other countries in Europe are expected to start seeing the Nexus 5X on sale within a few weeks of them initially becoming available.

Those interested in getting the Nexus 5X should know that the latest release from Google will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 processor together with 2 GB of RAM.

The phone will also be offered in two variants, with one offering 16 GB of internal storage and the other one doubling that at 32 GB. Owners can choose to expand the phone's internal storage with the use of a microSD card.

The Nexus 5X will also allow users to finally experience firsthand the new features included in the Android Marshmallow update.
