More details about yet another Samsung smartphone, this one known as the Galaxy A9, have been leaked online.

The leaked details come courtesy of promotional materials reportedly released for the new phone.

Interestingly enough, the Galaxy A9 has not even been officially announced by Samsung. According to Phone Arena, Samsung's most recent official announcement regarding their Galaxy A lineup only included the A3, A5, and A7 models. There was previously no mention of the Galaxy A9 until its details leaked online.

Despite the lack of an official announcement, it does appear as though the Galaxy A9 is a legitimate Samsung offering, and what's known about its specs and features could make it potentially desirable.

One of the most noticeable of the leaked details regarding the Galaxy A9 is its display size. Previously, it was believed that the phone would have a 5.5-inch super AMOLED full HD display, but that looks to be a tad inaccurate. Instead, the leaks now suggest that the screen size will be bigger at six inches, although it will still be a super AMOLED full HD unit.

The Galaxy A9 is also now expected to have a 13-megapixel rear camera paired up with an eight megapixel rear shooter, and those details are also different from what was previously known about the device, NDTV reported.

The new phone will also reportedly feature the Snapdragon 620 octa-core processor complete with 3 GB of RAM. The Galaxy A9 is also expected to offer 32 GB of internal storage, and will reportedly be running the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

Considering the fact that Samsung has yet to even formally announce the Galaxy A9, it becomes harder to pin down a release date for it. Still, rumors suggest that the Galaxy A9 will be made available soon, with a January launch date reportedly possible as well.
