Samsung Galaxy 7 release date: 2 S7 variants to be launched at Mobile World Congress?

Only a pair of Galaxy S7 variants may be launched at this year's Mobile World Congress.

In a tweet posted by noted tipster Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks on Twitter, he included only the names of two Galaxy S7 variants along with the caption saying, "and then there were two." The two variants Blass mentioned were the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge.

While Blass did not clarify what his tweet was about, it seemingly suggests that Samsung has yet again changed their plans when it comes to the Galaxy S7 line.

Earlier on, Blass had indicated in a tweet that there would be three variants of the Galaxy S7 line to be launched at the same time, although that no longer appears to be the case. His earlier tweet included the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and the Galaxy S7 Edge+.

The latest tweet from Blass also raises a question about Samsung's plans regarding the Galaxy S7 line. Specifically, it's now fair to wonder what happened to the other Galaxy S7 variant.

According to NDTV, this could mean that Samsung has either decided to launch the Galaxy S7 Edge+ some time later in the year, or perhaps the company may have simply opted to scrap this particular variant altogether.

Unfortunately, more official details regarding this matter may not be available for a while, as the Mobile World Congress is not set to start until Feb. 22.

Still, there's a chance that Samsung may decide to skip the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain, in lieu of launching the Galaxy S7 at a separate event, according to Expert Reviews UK.

Samsung has hosted events dedicated to specific devices before, and the company could certainly do that again for the Galaxy S7.

More news about the Galaxy S7 and its different variants will likely be made available in the coming weeks.
