Fans were left asking for more when AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" second season went on a mid-season break last May. So many questions still surround the Abigail clan, whose members have been split up in the face of the worsening zombie apocalypse.

Well, it looks like the cast of "Fear the Walking Dead" are poised for more blood, and some new faces, in the back half of its second season. According to a report by IGN.com, actress Danay Garcia has been announced as the newest cast member of the spin-off of "The Walking Dead" during the San Diego Comic-con.

Garcia, who earlier appeared in "Prison Break," is reportedly set to play a character named Luciana. Nick, played by Frank Dillane, will meet Garcia's character while on his way to Tijuana.

Also at the Comic-con, "Fear the Walking Dead" showrunner Dave Erickson revealed that Luciana is a "badass soldier" whom Nick will encounter while embarking on a "spiritual journey" to find out "what is his place, why is he alive and what are the dead."

During this journey, Nick will find a place called "La Colonia" outside the city where he will meet a group of people, including Luciana, who, just like him, "don't see the dead as a bad thing necessarily."

Luciana was also characterised as "someone who is also an orphan of the apocalypse in the same way Nick is by choice." This prompts Luciana and Nick to form a bond, with Luciana sharing to Nick how Mexican culture deals with the dead.

"He's the foreigner," Garcia said of Luciana. "This is my land."

Garcia further said that her character is different in the sense that Luciana already "knows the rules" of the zombie apocalypse, something that others are still grappling to understand.

With more new characters expected to be added to the "Fear the Walking Dead" cast, some are very likely to be let go.

In a separate interview with TV Line, Cliff Curtis, who plays lead character Travis in "Fear the Walking Dead," said the audience should expect "huge deaths" before the show ends its second season. He did not elaborate.

Colman Domingo, who plays Victor Strand, meanwhile said that the second half of the second season of "Fear the Walking Dead" will make avid viewers feel like they are watching many different shows, since the characters are "all being spun off into these other storylines."
