'Fallout Shelter' Thanksgiving update - what to expect

Even vault dwellers deserve a little holiday cheer, and Bethesda Softworks is indulging them to a Thanksgiving-themed update for "Fallout Shelter."

According to Gamespot, the new update will be introducing a variety of Thanksgiving-themed items, although Bethesda has not specifically outlined what they will actually be.

Judging by an image shared by the official "Fallout" Twitter account, players can most likely look forward to new costumes as well as decorations that they can use to spruce up their vaults for the coming holiday. Players might even be able to look forward to a plump Thanksgiving turkey on their tables for this coming holiday.

The Thanksgiving update for "Fallout Shelter" is completely free and should be out now for both the iOS and Android versions of the game.

This is not the only time Bethesda has rolled out a holiday-centric update for "Fallout Shelter."

Earlier in the year, Bethesda also released a Halloween-themed update that introduced a variety of decorations and costumes to the game.

According to Ubergizmo, it's a fair bet that Bethesda will release at least one more holiday-themed update for "Fallout Shelter" before the year comes to an end, with that last one presumably focusing on Christmas, although that is only a prediction at this point.

In related news, "Fallout 4," the other title related to the franchise that was released this year, has been the popular plaything for many modders.

According to Kotaku, one modder, who goes by the username "xxdeathknight72xx," even managed to find a harpoon gun that appears to not be officially included in this current iteration of the game.

Fans have suggested that the newly discovered harpoon gun may be part of an underwater level that was ultimately scrapped from the game, or perhaps a weapon that was meant to be used later on in a downloadable content (DLC) pack.

More news about "Fallout 4" and "Fallout Shelter" should be available soon.
