"Deadpool" was a surprise blockbuster hit when it was first released last February. The fans had so much fun watching a new kind of superhero: the quirky and comical Wade "Deadpool" Wilson played by Ryan Reynolds.

It is no wonder, therefore, that within days after the first "Deadpool" film was released, it was already announced that a sequel is already in the works. Now, fans are wondering when they can see the superhero who does not take most things seriously back on the silver screen.

According to MoviePilot.com, "Deadpool" producer Simon Kinberg recently gave an idea about the timeline of the sequel's filming and release.

During the 2016 Saturn Awards, Kinberg confirmed that the filming of "Deadpool 2" will begin in early 2017.

"We start shooting 'Deadpool 2' at the beginning of next year," the film producer said, as quoted by MoviePilot.com.

He added that he is currently prioritizing the shooting of the "Wolverine" movie. After filming "Deadpool 2," Kinberg said he will "sit down and start writing the next one of the mainline 'X-Men' movies real soon."

Given this filming timeline, MoviePilot.com further reported that "Deadpool 2" will likely be released in March 2018. The American film studio 20th Century Fox has so far released mystery premiere dates, including May 2, 2018, which is believed to be the exact date of the superhero film's sequel.

Further fueling speculations that the next "Deadpool" film will be released in May 2018 is a recent Instagram post by its main star, Reynolds. Last July 6, the actor posted a fan-made poster for "Deadpool 2," which shows an image of the hand of the comical superhero defacing a bathroom sign.

In the fan-made poster, as shown by University Herald, the words "Coming Soon: Soon As In 2018" are written, making some fans believe that Reynolds is secretly dropping clues on the release date of "Deadpool 2."
