'Bloodborne' news: New update adding The League feature

A new update is coming to "Bloodborne," and it will be adding some interesting new elements to the game.

Headlining the next update is the addition of a new feature known as The League.

To put it simply, The League is made up of a group of hunters who have taken a vow and who are united in a single purpose. In the game, that means players will be given the option to join The League and those who opt to do so will be able to both help out their fellow players in the game and even compete against them to land a higher score on a new leaderboard also being introduced via the update.

The League is being led by a curious figure donning what appears to be a constable's outfit and also a bucket that covers his entire head, according to the official PlayStation Blog. No word yet on who or what this bucket-helmed character is all about.

Players who will decide to join The League will also be able to use a new weapon known as The League cane and they will also be able to call some co-op non-player characters (NPCs) to help them deal with some of the more challenging areas and bosses inside "Bloodborne."

The good news for some players is that the new update containing all The League features will be given to everyone, and not just those who will also be getting "The Old Hunters" expansion pack, according to Gamespot.

For those who will be getting "The Old Hunters" expansion pack, they will be receiving new content in the form of additional areas and weapons on top of other goodies.

Players who will pre-order "The Old Hunters" expansion pack before Nov. 24 will receive an additional PlayStation 4 theme.

"The Old Hunters" expansion pack for "Bloodborne" is on sale for $20.
