'Bloodborne 2' release date rumors: Sequel already in development?

"Bloodborne 2" could already be in the works.

At the very least, that's a distinct possibility, considering the latest news and rumors that have been surrounding the new franchise.

Back in September, what appears to have been a Facebook conversation between a fan and the official page for the game seems to have provided insight into future plans for "Bloodborne."

During the conversation, the official page for "Bloodborne" indicated that the sequel to the game was already in development, Segment Next reported.

This is, of course, highly unofficial, and it's worth noting that the game's developers have not indicated that any sequel is coming any time soon.

Still, the possibility of "Bloodborne 2" being announced sometime soon is not at all an outlandish concept, considering the success of the original game.

"Bloodborne" has been one of the big hits of the year, and it would seemingly be a no-brainer for the companies behind it to start working on a sequel as soon as possible.

Just how soon is the question.

Interestingly enough, Sony has already announced that there will be no more downloadable content (DLC) coming out for the original "Bloodborne" game after the release of "The Old Hunters" DLC, Gamespot reported.

According to Sony Japan producer Masaaki Yamagiwa, the original plan was to release two different DLC expansions for "Bloodborne." Plans changed, however, and the expansions were wrapped up into one neat little package known as "The Old Hunters."

The decision was reportedly made to provide players with more new content to enjoy.

It was also Yamigawa who suggested that there will be no more new DLC coming to "Bloodborne."

Sony's decision to halt the production of DLC for the game may also be an indicator that they will now be shifting their focus toward creating "Bloodborne 2."

Unfortunately, there is no official news regarding "Bloodborne 2" as of yet, although it may be arriving sooner rather than later.
