An interesting leak has seemingly indicated that Samsung and BlackBerry are currently working together on a new phone.

According to a GFXBench listing and as reported on by NDTV, a new smartphone with the codename STV100-1 could be the product of the joint efforts of the two companies.

To be more specific, the new BlackBerry smartphone will reportedly feature what looks to be Samsung's line of Exynos chips.

Interestingly enough, rumors from earlier this year had suggested that BlackBerry and Samsung were indeed working together on a new smartphone, and this might just be that device finally coming to light.

According to Forbes, if it does turn out that BlackBerry and Samsung have been working on a new smartphone, it would not be the first time that the two companies have paired up on a project. Earlier on, BlackBerry revealed plans to create a new product known as the SecuTab, which would be the result of their joint efforts with Samsung. The tablet reportedly features essential components originating from both companies.

As for the smartphone currently in the rumors, some of its specs have also been revealed.

Aside from its Exynos chipset, the new phone is also expected to feature 3 GB of RAM along with 32 GB of internal storage.

The rumored BlackBerry-Samsung joint device is also expected to have a 16-megapixel rear camera along with one up front providing five megapixels.

The rumored smartphone will also reportedly have a 5.1-inch QHD display upon being released.

It's worth noting that at least for now, both Samsung and BlackBerry have yet to actually confirm the existence of the rumored smartphone.

Not all listings that make their way online are always accurate, although a new smartphone venture could still prove beneficial for both parties if it does indeed turn out to be the real deal.
