First impressions are very important, particularly on the parents of the girl you are trying to impress, but Ben Seewald made an embarrassing albeit funny first impression on Jessa Duggar's dad Jim Bob from 19 Kids and Counting.

"Funny story about my first meeting with Jessa's Dad," Ben wrote on the Seewald Family Blog. "Well, I'd been playing football with some guys (including Jessa's bros) and hadn't drank much water and was cramping up badly."

He had borrowed a bike from the Duggars to ride to and from the football field, and it was not until he was on the bike peddling back that he realised he was cramping, and quite painfully too! So Ben rode as fast as he could, thinking of ways he could stop his cramps.

When he rode past Jessa's sister Jinger, who was talking to her friends, she waved at him but Ben could only grimace back at her because of his pain.

"Jinger's wave slowed and then she lifted her hand to her eyes to shield the sun so as to get a better look at me. 'Is he okay???' she must have been thinking," said Ben.

When he finally got back to the Duggars' campsite, he hopped off so fast from the bike that he left his cleats there. As he was moving towards his own family's campsite, Jim Bob finally made his appearance.

The 19 Kids and Counting patriarch smiled and gave Ben a warm hello, but the young kid was in so much pain that he could not do anything but say, "Hi! I'm cramping!" and walked past Jim Bob.

Luckily for Ben, Jim Bob did not take it as a slight and actually thought that the incident was pretty funny, since he just laughed and said, "Oh okay!"

"After I recovered from the cramps I went back to retrieve my cleats and properly introduce myself. Jim Bob and I talked for about 15 minutes or so, and I got his number!!! I was so pumped!" he said.
