iPhone 7 release date: Apple to launch new flagship smartphone in September

Apple may be renowned for its innovative practices, but one way in which the company has held firm to tradition is when it comes to the launch dates of their new phones.

That steady pattern of releasing new devices is not expected to change this year, meaning folks can anticipate the iPhone 7 to be launched sometime in September.

As people may recall, Apple launched the iPhone 6s in September of last year, and prior to that, September 2014 marked the debut of the iPhone 6.

Even the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, released in 2012 and 2013 respectively, were both launched during the month of September.

Apple now has a fairly well-established track record of taking over September with their new phone announcement, and that in all likelihood, will take place again this year.

The iPhone 7 is also rumored to be made available to buyers soon after it makes its debut in September. According to numerous reports, Apple's newest iPhone is expected to be available in stores just two weeks after the company launches it.

With the iPhone 7 seemingly guaranteed a September debut, now is as good a time as many to find out more about what the new device will be offering.

One significant change in the iPhone 7 will reportedly be related to its headphone jack, or lack thereof. As Value Walk reported, the new phone is no longer expected to sport the headphone jack that has been present in earlier models. The move to remove the headphone jack is expected to help reduce the thickness of the iPhone 7 while also prompting the introduction of new headphones.

Apple is also reportedly planning to launch a 256 GB variant of the iPhone 7. Along with this, Apple may also phase out the lower end 16 GB models.

More details about the iPhone 7 should be made available in the near future.
