Google is said to be on the verge of releasing their new Android Marshmallow update en masse, and the question now is when it might reach particular models, such as the ones from Samsung.

The new operating system (OS) is expected to be seen first in the new Nexus models Google will be making available this year, but after that, there's still a lot of uncertainty regarding which phones from which companies are getting it not long after its debut.

Samsung smartphones are among the most prolific users of the Android OS, and because of that, owners of those devices are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of it.

According to Tech Radar, the fact that Samsung was able to secure the Android Lollipop OS update for their units not long after it was first released is most likely a positive sign for the prospects of the Marshmallow firmware.

The list of Samsung units that are expected to receive the Marshmallow update not long after it debuts includes the Galaxy Note 4, the S6, and the S6 Edge.

Earlier this year, it was rumored that the S6 Edge+ and the Note 5 would both be released with the Marshmallow update right out of the box, but now, it appears that might not be accurate.

According to Android Pit, people can expect the flagship units that Samsung released this year to receive the Marshmallow update either before the end of 2015 or very early on in 2016.

Other Samsung Galaxy units that are expected to receive the Marshmallow update include the Alpha, Note Edge, Note 4 Duos, S6 Duos, and the Tab A.

It's unclear if models other than the ones outlined here will also be getting the Marshmallow update, so folks will have to stay tuned to find out.

In any case, it looks as though the Android Marshmallow OS will be inside some Samsung units sooner rather than later.
