Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Sony Xperia Z1 rolls out in China, fixes bugs

Sony Xperia Z1

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Sony Xperia Z1 won't change much about the device beyond fixing bugs in the previous firmware build 14.3.A.0.757.

First to get their hands on the firmware 14.3.A.0.761 though are owners of the Sony Xperia Z1 model number C6902 i.e. those in China.

XperiaBlog shared a screenshot of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on the Xperia Z1 and it doesn't have any official changelog.

But with it landing in China, we at least have good reason to expect the update going to roll out to other countries shortly.

The Walkman app for Sony Xperia Z1 users has also been updated to fix bugs and crashes with 8.3.A.0.5. This replaces the 8.3.A.0.2 which users had reported issues with.

Updates are expected in May for more Xperia devices, including the ZL and ZR as well as Tablet Z, with the latest operating system certified last week.
