After announcing that Acer is in the process of releasing an Android gaming tablet named Predator, the Taiwanese tech company will be looking to attack the smartphone market with its Liquid X2 handset. Liquid X2 possesses several handy features that will cater to a wide audience, such as support for accommodating three SIMs in one mobile device and a very large 4,000 mAh battery. The battery will be sufficient to provide more than a day of battery life.

According to Engadget, the device sports a very impressive and appealing exterior and possesses a 5.5 inch screen size, with resolution details unknown. Additionally, underneath the beautiful chassis, Liquid X2 will be running a 64 bit capable octa-core processor. While details of which 'system on a chip' will be running inside the mobile computing device have not been revealed, it is expected that the smartphone will be targeted to the high-end smartphone and therefore, feature a powerful chipset.

Furthermore, for smartphone image capturing and video snapping aficionados, Acer's Liquid X2 features two 13 megapixel camera sensors that are present on either side of the smartphone. The rear sensor will sport an f/1.8 aperture lens. Currently, Acer has not detailed the price and availability of the smartphone, but it will make its way to Asia in the month of August first. Judging from its tri-SIM support to beefy 4,000 mAh battery and a powerful octa-core processor, it can be speculated that the upcoming device will not carry a budget friendly price tag.

However, Acer can maintain an aggressive pricing strategy in order to get as much market exposure as possible. In this way, the company will be able to stand toe to toe against rising Chinese smartphone makers such as Xiaomi and Vivo, and dominating companies such as Samsung and Apple. Since that is all the information currently available cocnerning Liquid X2, more details will be presented when the smartphone nears its official launch date next month.
