Feeling weak? 10 Bible verses on the power of God

In the Bible God says that we are powerful. He says that we have been given a work to do and that we are Christ's ambassadors on earth to spread the good news of his resurrection. This can feel a little intimidating. We might not feel powerful or equipped to do such work. The reassuring this is that we are powerful - we are full of the power of the Holy Spirit. We don't need to conjure the strength ourselves, rather we receive it from the Holy Spirit. The Bible says that in our weakness, His power is made perfect, so there is no pressure to get it all right.

Here are ten Bible verses on the power of God and how He empowers us:

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing my soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

2 Corinthians 13:4

For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with Him by the power of God.

Isaiah 40:29

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak

Ephesians 3:16

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.

Matthew 19:26

But Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Job 12:13-15

To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his. What he tears down cannot be rebuilt; the man he imprisons cannot be released. If he holds back the waters, there is drought; if he lets them loose, they devastate the land.

Jeremiah 10:12

It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.
