"Star Wars: Battlefront" has had quite a run these past few months with the release of notable expansion packs. And it appears that the hit video game is looking to close out the year with a bang via the upcoming Rogue One: Scarif downloadable content.

In light of the recent anniversary of the shooter title, Electronic Arts released new details regarding the additional content. Since the DLC is part the marketing push for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," players will be able to explore the newest planet in the "Star Wars" lore in Scarif. According to the game's official website, fans will be able to "battle across four new maps, including the sandy beaches of Scarif — an all-new tropical planet crawling with Imperials — which should look mighty familiar to anyone who saw the movie trailer."

The description of the environment will give not just "Battlefront" players a new planet to wander in but also for all "Star Wars" fans who have never seen a setting similar to that of Scarif. The new "Rogue One" setting offers an entirely new tropical climate seemingly complete with palm trees. A new set of heroes and anti-heroes will also be introduced in the DLC including Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic, two of the main characters in the film where the add-on is mined from.

Aside from Rogue One: Scarif, "Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission" is also set to debut next month. Much like the new DLC pack, this exclusive new feature is tipped to come out in accordance with "Star Wars'" first standalone film. As the title suggests, it gives players an immersive experience in piloting the Rebellion's iconic battleship as it jumps through hyperspace and carries out missions. However, it will only be playable on the PlayStation VR.

Both exciting new content is tipped to drop on Dec. 6 for "Star Wars Battlefront." To those who are still contemplating on getting their own copy of the game, this is the best time to do so not only because of the content coming. The Deluxe Edition of the title has also been marked down to just $13.99 at the PlayStation Store which is a steal as it already includes all of the add-ons. The offer will be available until the end of the month.
