Boy, 15, beheaded by ISIS jihadis for listening to Western pop music in Mosul

Islamic State (ISIS) militants have reportedly beheaded a 15-year-old Iraqi boy for the "crime" of listening to Western music on his portable CD player.

The Kurdish ARA news agency reported that the teenager, identified as Ayham Hussein, was caught red handed listening to music on his audio player by the jihadis at his father's grocery store. He was then hauled before a kangaroo court which ruled that he should be executed, according to CBN News.

The boy was reportedly beheaded in a public square on Tuesday in Mosul, the northern Iraqi city still occupied by the terror group since June 2014.

"Ayham Hussein was captured by the ISIS while listening to pop music at the grocery store of his father in the Nabi Younis marketplace in western Mosul," a Nineveh media centre spokesman told ARA News.

"He was referred to the Sharia Court, which quickly issued a decision to execute him."

MediaTakeOut.com learned that the boy was listening to Warren G's "Regulate."

The boy's body was said to have been returned to his family on Tuesday after the execution, which reportedly sparked outrage among the locals.

A source told ARA that prior to the boy's execution, the Sharia Court in Mosul had not issued any formal decision that bans listening to Western music.

He said the execution was the first of its kind to be documented in Mosul.

In a statement two years ago, the terror group banned "music and songs in cars, at parties, in shops and in public, as well as photographs of people in shop windows.''

It said, "Songs and music are forbidden in Islam as they prevent one from the remembrance of God and the Quran and are a temptation and corruption of the heart,'' the Daily Mail reported.

Earlier this week, ISIS militants also reportedly executed two people for missing Friday prayers.

The Independent quoted local activist Abdulah al-Malla as saying that the men were shot outside the mosque on Sunday. "The execution took place after a member of the Sharia Court read a statement vowing anyone who misses the prayers at the mosque will face the same punishment.''

In late January, a 14-year-old boy was also reportedly beheaded on similar charges.

The ISIS likewise executed last week a captive in the Syrian stronghold of Raqqa with a three-foot sword, according to reports.
