Sandbox survival game "Ylands" is now in early access. The game was released on Steam on Dec. 6 and is now available for purchase.

However, the developers warn that the game is currently incomplete. Those who purchase it in its current state will inevitably have to deal with bugs and technical difficulties — as the developers continue to tweak the game and patch up all the problems.

Since its release on Steam, "Ylands" has received mostly positive feedback. Players have described the alpha version as both promising and harsh. Those who left reviews for "Ylands" often talked about the survival aspect of the game, describing the experience as fun and challenging. There are lots of places to explore, lots of bases to build, and items to craft as well.

At its earliest state, it seems to be a cross between farming simulation game "Harvest Moon" and the online multiplayer survival game "Minecraft." The game has a blocky, cartoon-like aesthetic that brings its environment and characters to life. The art style also does a great job of contrasting the colorful settings with the harsh survival mechanics of the game.

The official Synopsis on Steam states: "Ylands" is a unique sandbox adventure game which allows you to explore your creativity. It is also a platform for making custom games, ranging from simple scenarios to sophisticated game modes."

Despite the mostly positive reviews, a handful of Steam users rated the game negatively due to the current bugs and technical problems. However, considering the fact that the game is in early access, it will be awhile before most of these are fixed and the game is polished.

The released trailer for "Ylands" was first released on Nov. 12, 2015. The video was uploaded to Yland's YouTube channel. Barely over a minute long, the trailer gave players a glimpse of the game's various settings alongside a look at the art design and the crafting system for players.

The game is currently available for purchase for $12.
