XBox Games with Gold October 2014: List of free titles to download

Micosoft already unveiled the anticipated October list of free games for all Xbox Games with Gold subscribers, including a brand new indie co-op platformer that has a playful, fast-paced theme.

In its October press release, Microsoft said:

"Chariot, the newest ID@Xbox game from Canadian developers Frima, is a couch co-op platformer that can be played alone or with a friend. Players take the role of the brave Princess or her faithful Fiancé as they maneuver the departed king's coffin-on-wheels through 25 levels set in five vibrant underground environments, with his majesty's ghost giving them a piece of his mind every step of the way."

Chariot is available for download from Oct. 1 to 31 on Xbox One.

For those who use the Xbox 360 gaming console, they can download the "Battlefield: Bad Company 2" title from Oct. 1 until Oct. 15. This is a first-person shooter game suitable for players who enjoy vehicular battles. This time, players can use ATVs as well as transport helicopters on the Battlefield for a new level of multiplayer experience. In addition, the B Company squad is also returning in the sequel of the award-winning single-player game.

On the other hand, "Darksiders II" is also available for Xbox 360 download starting Oct. 16 until Oct. 31. This is the second installment to the action-role-playing series that features extra-ordinary visuals, incredible plotline, as well as scenic virtual environment. The sequel also includes incredible voice acting combined with new character-enhancing options.

All these games are available as free downloads during the specified period this October. Only qualified paying Xbox Live Gold members are allowed to get all these for free.

Other benefits of Xbox Live Gold membership include multiplayer access, exclusive discounts and deals, as well as members-only parties and chats for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users, and Smart Match, Game DVR Cloud Storage, Home Gold, Upload Studio, and Xbox Fitness access exclusively for Xbox One owners.

Without the Games with Gold subscription, players can avail of "Chariot" for $14.99, "Battlefield: Bad Company 2" for only $19.99, and the "Darksiders II" video game for $39.99.
