Microsoft usually announces the refreshed list of free video games for the Xbox Games With Gold service towards the end of the month, although it's a different story this time around. The Xbox Live Gold subscribers can now check out the official May 2018 free games list, which include a bunch of big and exciting gaming treats for the players. The lineup is led by the popular AAA title, "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain."
The Xbox Games With Gold May 2018 free games lineup is comprised of four titles, two for the Xbox One and two for the Xbox 360 console. The official list of free games for next month came from Microsoft's unlisted video, which was first spotted by Wario64. The highlights of the May 2018 list are "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain," as well as the popular sports game "Super Mega Baseball 2."
The former actually has already been expected to arrive in the Xbox Games With Gold catalogue ever since the game was also featured in the PlayStation Plus lineup for the month of October last year. The 2015 hit stealth video game will be available from May 15 to June 15.
As for "Super Mega Baseball 2," sports fans will be thrilled to try out the game for free for the entire month of May. The first "Super Mega Baseball" game was named the Sports Video Game of the Year in 2014 by Polygon, and the expectations are high that the sequel will manage to match, or even exceed, the intensity of the original game.
On the other hand, the Xbox 360 free titles in the Xbox Games With Gold May 2018 lineup are "Vanquish" and "Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage." The latter is actually a collection of the first three "Streets of Rage" video games. This title will be availble in the Games With Gold catalog in the first half of May.
For the remaining half of May, "Vanquish" will take over the Games With Gold catalog, and some players are actually excited that the game has finally been included in the free games selection. Developed by Platinum Games, "Vanquish" is an action-packed third-person shooter video game with an intense pacing. The player will assume the role of DARPA agent Sam Gideon, who is tasked to bring down a renegade Russian army that aims to terrorize the United States.
