'Wayward Pines' episode 6 spoilers: The Pilchers tour Ethan inside town's secret facility in 'Choices'

Things get more complicated as Ethan discovers more hidden truth about the eerie Idaho town in FOX's "Wayward Pines."

In the previous episode, Ethan (Matt Dillon) found out about the existence of dangerous, carnivorous beings called the "aberrations" or "abbies" when he accidentally discovered the area called Boise. The abbies are humans who genetically evolved into vicious creatures in the span of two millennia, and they roam the wasted areas outside Wayward Pines in the year 4028.

Ethan also learned that Wayward Pines was founded by David Pilcher (Toby Jones) and his sister Pam (Melissa Leo) in the 2000s as his last ditch effort to save humanity before being completely taken over by genetic mutations.

For the upcoming episode, Ethan will have a deeper understanding of the town's hidden truth by visiting the Pilchers' technologically advanced facility. Director Jeff T. Thomas talked about episode 6 titled "Choices" in an interview with TV Guide.

According to Thomas, "We're learning a lot more about Pilcher and Pam in this episode. We see the humanity behind the individuals."

The Pilchers take Ethan to their secret facility to further explain the secrets of the town. David shows the former U.S. Secret Service agent-turned-town sheriff a room filled with sleeping humans inside a capsule. According to David, it is the only way to help mankind survive for 2000 years.

But Ethan is not the only one who has a new startling discovery about the town. While looking over some files inside the real estate agents office, his wife Theresa (Shannyn Sossamon) gets hold of a map showing an unusual plot of land. The odd property prompts her to investigate. Will she discover another hidden truth because of that piece of land?

"Wayward Pines" episode 6 airs Thursday, June 25, on FOX.
