The US Figure Skating team has been announced today.

The three ladies heading to the Olympics to represent the United States are Gracie Gold, Polina Edmunds and Ashley Wagner.

Gracie Gold, 18, won the gold medal at the U.S. Championships in Boston last night. Gold wowed the crowd with her flawless performance on Thursday night, and skated to victory last night.

Polina Edmunds, 15, won the U.S. Junior championships last year. She was chosen for the Olympics team despite never competing at an international level before. This is Edmunds first year competing at senior level, and she landed second place at the U.S. Championships.

Ashley Wagner, 22, fell a couple of times during her crucial skate last night, failing to land the top 3 spots in the U.S. Championships. However, she still managed to make the US Olympic team due to her past wins.

U.S. Figure Skating President Patricia St. Peter said, "Looking at Ashley Wagner's record and performances, she's got the top credentials of any of our female athletes."

Mirai Nagasu, who took third place at the U.S. Championships last night, failed to make the Olympic team. Nagasu competed in the 2010 Olympics and took fourth place.
