Alliances will grow deeper in the upcoming episode of "Under the Dome" season 3.

In episode 11 titled "Love Is a Battlefield," Barbie (Mike Vogel) will prove that he will do everything to make sure that Eva (Kylie Bunbury) is safe during her pregnancy. He will protect the mother of his child even if it means having to put his own life in danger.

Fans of the sci-fi thriller found out last episode that the virus that Christine inflicted Barbie with can never be taken out of his system. This means that whatever is injected onto him can be easily activated by Christine (Marg Helgenberger) whenever she wants to. But does it mean that the end is near for the people in Chester's Mill who are also under the Kinship?

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

Members of The Resistance race to release their loved ones from Christine's influence before she reaches her end game for the Dome. While Barbie risks everything in an attempt to free Eva from the Kinship, Big Jim (Dean Norris) and Julia (Rachel Lefevre) are enlisted by Hektor (Eriq La Salle), the head of Aktaion, to test a possible cure for infected townspeople. Also, Joe (Colin Ford) chooses to work with Christine after she shares some shocking information about the entity behind the Dome."

Meanwhile, the future of "Under the Dome" is hanging by a thread, as it remains to be seen what will happen to the show after the remaining episodes are aired. CarterMatt revealed that season 3 is not performing well in the TV ratings game the way it used to. This is normally a cause for a series cancellation in most networks.

But fans still have a sliver of hope. TVbythenumbers revealed that the Aug. 6 episode managed to earn a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 bracket who watched the show on DVR. This is reportedly a 90 percent increase from its previous episode. If the series' performance will continue in this direction, CBS could consider ordering a season 4 for "Under the Dome."

Episode 11 of "Under the Dome" season 3 will air today, Aug. 27.
