Marvel fans will be treated to a star-studded ensemble in the third installment of the "Thor" films, after the studio announced the inclusion of Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett in "Thor 3: Ragnarok."

The film studio revealed that the "Blue Jasmine" actress will be Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) biggest enemy in the upcoming film, as she takes on the role of Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death based on the comic book series.

Other additions to the cast of "Thor 3: Ragnarok" include "Jurassic Park" star Jeff Goldblum as the unconventional Grandmaster, "Star Trek" star Karl Urban as the fray named Skurge the Executioner and "Creed" star Tessa Thompson as the famous Valkyrie.

Film producer Kevin Feige believes that the new cast additions will lend a hand in showcasing Thor's most epic adventure in the movies.

"The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can't be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible," the producer said in the report on the official Marvel website.

Meanwhile, Urban told New Zealand-based Stuff that he was glad to become a part of the upcoming Marvel movie because of its amazing script, as well as the opportunity to work with fellow Kiwi Taika Waititi who will helm the film.

"It's a fantastic story and a really great character who has got a wonderful arc. I'm super excited to play it and be a part of the Marvel family," the actor said.

Other returning cast members for "Thor 3: Ragnarok" include Tom Hiddleston as Thor's adoptive brother-turned-nemesis Loki, Idris Alba as the Asgardian sentry named Heimdall and Oscar Award-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin, the ruler of Asgard.

"Thor 3: Ragnarok" is slated to debut on Nov. 3, 2017.
