'The Young and the Restless' spoilers: Legal war brews over Christian's paternity reveal

Joshua Morrow's Nick is about to hear some devastating news in this week's "The Young and the Restless." Latest spoilers reveal not only will he learn about Christian's paternity, he will face some legal challenges as well regarding the kid's custody.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) initially wanted to expose the truth about Christian being Adam's (Justin Hartley) biological son but She Knows Soap reveals it is Sharon (Sharon Case) who will drop the bombshell this week. Nick will be flooded with anger knowing how everyone let him get attached to the child, despite knowing the truth. Although Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is stunned upon hearing the news, it turns out her husband Victor (Eric Braeden) has long known Christian's parentage as well.

Nick has already lost Chelsea (Mellisa Claire Egan). Now that the cat's out of the bag, he could be losing Christian too.

As Inquisitr noted, Victor would be fighting for the custody of his grandson. Christian's mother Sage is presumed dead, so are his maternal grandparents. Such is the case with Adam too. This means Victor is Christian's closest living biological relative. Nick would have shared the custody had Chelsea stayed with him, but she ran off and left, making him barely related to the child.

There is a possibility Victor would let Nick keep Christian as long as he could see his grandson. The thing, though, is that Cricket (Lauralee Bell) may tip social services in an attempt to take down the Victor and the Newmans. Fans can only keep their fingers crossed that this will not be the case.

Either way, it will clearly be a tough week for Nick. He may not have hit rock bottom yet but with the recent events, this may happen very soon.

"The Young and the Restless" airs weekday afternoons at 12:30 pm EST on CBS. Those who missed last week's episode may check out the recap video below.
