CD Projekt RED's highly anticipated open-world action role-playing game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is finally released, and it seems like graphics processing units manufacturer NVIDIA found this the best time to reveal several details about the graphics performance of the title's PC edition.

The game's minimum system requirements as well as other graphics details are posted on the official GeForce website. According to the website, the third installment in "The Witcher" series can work well on computers with minimum specifications, namely:

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 940
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
  • DirectX: Version 11

On the other hand, players will have an optimum gaming experience using the following recommended specifications:

  • Processor: Intel Core i7 3770 3.4 GHz or AMD AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 or above

Also, the website shared that the Polish game developer of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will introduce two new graphics enhancements to make the game look better. One of them is the NVIDIA HairWorks, which provides more detailed texture for hair and fur in the game. The other one is the NVIDIA HBAO+ Ambient Occlusion, which adds contract shadows whenever two objects or surfaces meet. Other added graphics features in the game are NVIDIA Dynamic Super Resolution as well as NVIDIA GameStream.

Meanwhile, the game developer revealed future releases that will follow after "The Witcher 3" becomes available. According to CD Projekt RED's website coordinator and community manager Marcin Momot, a free DLC will come out as soon as the game is officially launched.

"Regarding the FREE DLC, the 1st two pieces will become available today when the game officially launches. #TheWitcher #WildHunt," Momot tweeted

These "two pieces" are among the promised 16 DLC packs that will be released for the game. For the console versions, a Redditor with the username of kuroinferuno spotted update 1.02, which is expected to be launched to offer additional support for the DLCs.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" comes out today, May 19, but it already reached a total of one million pre-order purchases as of last week.
