'The Winds of Winter' release date, news: Book launching soon as George R.R. Martin begins proofreading stage?

Readers of "A Song of Ice and Fire" book saga all over the world are still anxiously waiting for the release of its sixth installment, "The Winds of Winter." But new speculations claim that author George R.R. Martin is already moving forward in his writing process, and he is about to release the book soon.

Rumors claim that Martin is already done writing the book. He is reportedly in the proofreading stage in preparation for the release of "The Winds of Winter."

The wait for "The Winds of Winter" began as soon as the fifth installment, "A Dance with Dragons," came out in March 2011. The book is expected to be released before HBO airs the sixth season of "Game of Thrones," the TV adaptation of the book saga. But the cable network already released season 6 on April 2016 even if Martin's book is still unfinished.

The delay in the release of "The Winds of Winter" earned Martin a number annoyed fans. But the 68-year-old novelist previously told The Independent in August 2014 that he gives more importance to the opinion of his fans who patiently waits for him to finish his work.

"There is a minority who are annoying, it has to be said. But for every one of those, there are 500 who are just great and who are very supportive. They buy the books and come out in their thousands when I do a signing," the author said.

At the moment, Martin remains mum about the official release date of "The Winds of Winter." But other speculations claim that the book will be released simultaneously with the seventh and last book of the series titled "A Dream of Spring." The books are rumored to be released sometime in 2017, just before HBO airs "Game of Thrones" season 7. However, Martin has to confirm the validity of the said rumors.
