Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) might have killed more than one beloved character in the season premiere of "The Walking Dead" season 7.

Speculations about the multiple deaths came out after Zap2it released a leaked audio clip reportedly taken from the scene where the evil group leader of the Saviors killed a member of Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) group. But instead of one, it appears like another person had been bludgeoned to death using Negan's barbed-wire-covered baseball bat that he fondly calls Lucille.

Based on the audio clip, Maggie's (Lauren Cohan) anguished screams can be heard as she was calling out Glenn's (Steven Yeun) name. Fans of "The Walking Dead" comic book series already know that Glenn was actually killed by Negan, but it seems like Maggie will also suffer the same fate as him based on the screams of the people from their group.

While there is no confirmation yet about the possible deaths of both Glenn and Maggie, director Greg Nicotero seemed to have dropped a major teaser about the premiere episode's multiple killings during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Nicotero revealed that he understands the negative public sentiments when asked about how he feels about all the anger thrown at the series after the epic cliffhanger shown at the end of season 6 were the viewers of the show were left hanging before they can find out who Negan killed. Yet he also said that he will never change it any other way.

"I would have still supported doing it the way that we did it, because of the fact that the story doesn't end there. If we would have shown the deaths, then they wouldn't have felt our characters in season 7 the way they need to," Nicotero said. Since the TV director used the word "deaths" instead of its singular form, it can be safe to assume that there are multiple dead bodies that will await the viewers in season 7.

AMC will air the premiere episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7 on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 9 p.m.
