It seems like the Salvatore brothers are losing the special women in their lives in the next episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7.

In a TV Guide interview, executive producer Caroline King hinted that Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice King) will no longer have a bright and happy future, and Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will experience a rough patch in their friendship.

Dries revealed that Bonnie will remain loyal and supportive to Damon, but their friendship will encounter a tough trial in the second half of the season.

"For us writers, it's a very interesting dynamic to play because they both have such great chemistry onscreen, so they play off each other so well," the executive producer said.

Dries also mentioned that while Alaric can also be Damon's other source of strength outside Stefan and Bonnie, he will be too preoccupied with his babies and Caroline to pay attention to Damon's needs. This means that Damon's falling out with Bonnie will have some very bad consequences in his life.

Meanwhile, Dries revealed that since Caroline wants to cut Stefan out of her life completely after deciding to move to Dallas and be engaged with Alaric, they still want to give the Steroline fans a chance to be happy even for a short while.

"Since we knew we were putting that out there right away in the second episode -- that something terrible happens between Caroline and Stefan -- we still wanted the audience to enjoy their present day relationship. It's still very rich, and with them, it's more tragic than anything else," Dries revealed.

Meanwhile, Dries revealed that Tyler (Michael Trevino) will appear in a fun episode that will involve the other male characters in the supernatural series.

The next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7, titled "Things We Lost in the Fire," airs on Friday, Feb. 5.
