Alaric (Matt Davis) must face a difficult decision in the next episode of The Vampire Diaries season 6. The CW

Alaric (Matt Davis) needs to make a very difficult decision when the next episode of a"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs next week.

Based on the spoilers for the episode "Live Through This," the former history teacher will try to bring his lady love Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) back to life after Kai (Chris Wood) killed her during the supposedly festive wedding. But bringing Jo back from the dead will have a serious implication on his friend Bonnie (Kat Graham).

Alaric must use the mystifying Phoenix Stone to bring Jo back from the dead, but Bonnie suffers from terrifying visions, terrible headaches, and disorientation whenever she gets near it. Alaric vowed to destroy the stone as soon as possible to help his friend, but his love for Jo seems to be pressuring him to forget about Bonnie's welfare.

According to the spoilers shared by Entertainment Weekly, Alaric's time to wake his bride back from the grave is fast approaching.

But can Alaric sacrifice his own friend so that his lady love can return to this dimension?

Meanwhile, fans of "The Vampire Diaries" were surprised to see Tyler (Michael Travino) in one of the final scenes in the series. He last appeared in the supernatural drama series three years ago, but a flash forward after the three-year time jump teased that Tyler will be present in the new season of "The Vampire Diaries."

"We wanted to remind the audience that Tyler's still very much a part of [the show's] universe," executive producer Caroline Dries explained to TVLine why they decided to ask him to reprise his role this season.

"When you're fortunate enough to leave Mystic Falls — and not because you died — we try to exploit and embrace that. Tyler got away, so to speak, and just seeing a little glimpse of him in the show told the audience, 'Look, three years from now, the guy's still alive. So there's some hope.'"

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 5 airs on Thursday, Nov. 5.
