Just four months after dropping the bomb about her exit from Bravo's highest-rating show from the "Housewives" reality series franchise, NeNe Leakes once again surprised her fans after announcing that she will be appearing in several episodes of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season 8.
Leakes revealed the news herself on Instagram while posting several images showing her with the other "RHOA" co-stars in the reality show's out-of-the-country getaway in Jamaica, as well as a solo shot with the caption, "Hunni I'm home #RHOA."
According to her previous interviews, the controversial reality star said that she will never return to the Housewives franchise again after the seventh season. However, it seems like she just cannot flush "RHOA" out of her system.
But several sources told E! News that the current "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" ladies had no clue that Leakes was joining them during the trip.
Other sources reached out to TMZ and shared that the producers of the show called Leakes and pled with her to come back because they were having a hard time getting an exciting storyline so far in season 8. Allegedly, Leakes agreed to the new deal because of an irresistible paycheck offer, and the filming for her appearance this season will not interfere with her other commitments. There are no details yet regarding the number of episodes that she will appear in for the upcoming season.
Leakes managed to get a job as Betty White's co-star in ABC's soon-to-be=released reboot of the classic game show "To Tell the Truth" on ABC. She will also return to Broadway as Matron "Mama" Morton in the star-studded run of Tony's award-winning "Chicago" musical starting Nov. 23.
The current cast of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" season 8 includes Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams, Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks, Cynthia Bailey, newcomer Kim Fields and returning cast member Sheree Whitfield. They are expected to be surpised when Leakes appears unannounced in one of their group dinners.
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season 8 is slated to premiere on Sunday, Nov. 8, on Bravo.
