'The Originals' season 3 spoilers: Freya steps between her bickering brothers

Expect to see a more intense brotherly squabble in the season premiere of "The Originals" season 3.

In a sneak peek for the premiere episode titled "For the Next Millenium," the animosity between Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and his brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) will deepen after the events that happened in the previous season. Last season, Klaus almost sacrificed the lives of his siblings and cursed his baby's mother Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to save his daughter Hope.

The fury between the Mikaelson brothers becomes too much to handle when the quarrelling siblings crossed paths while visiting Hope in their eldest sister Freya's (Riley Voelkel) care. Freya was forced to step in the middle to stop them from fighting in front of the baby.

Elijah obliged and left the room for the sake of her niece, but Freya sternly advised Klaus to stop picking fights with his siblings. "Nicely done," Freya told Klaus. "At this rate, you'll drive the entire family away."

In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series executive producer Julie Plec claimed that the Mikaelson siblings will still harbor the hatred seen toward the end of the second season.

"The Original family left last season very distant from each other. I'd say Klaus left last season [having] alienated pretty much everyone he's ever met before," Plec shared.

But will the brothers continue hating each other for the rest of the upcoming season even if an outside threat emerges? Plec has the same question in mind.

"So the minute this season there's a threat, the question is, is the family going to once again put aside their differences to stand together to fight a common enemy? Or did Klaus's actions shatter that bond too much, and will it keep them splintered? One of the first questions we ask early on is where are Elijah and Klaus going to come to with each other? Will they be able to stand together?" she said.

The premiere episode of "The Originals" season 3 airs on Thursday, Oct. 8, on The CW.
