After the Mikaelson family reunited during last week's episode of "The Originals" season 2, another missing family member will resurface for the upcoming installment of the hit horror-fantasy drama from The CW.
Based on the official synopsis for episode 8 titled "The Brothers That Care Forgot," Rebekah (Claire Holt) returns to New Orleans after being away to live an ordinary life with baby Hope. Her temporary peaceful existence was disrupted when she found out that her mother Esther (Sonja Sohn) discovered her hiding place.
A spoiler posted on E! Online said that Rebekah would be the first of the siblings to give in to Esther's deal, that is, to magically change her immortal vampire body into that of a mortal witch's body, which would allow her to live a rather normal human existence.
Since Rebekah badly wants to live a normal life with Hope, her mother could be her only chance to get what she wants. But will Esther give it to her without a devious deal? Executive producer Michael Narducci talked about the upcoming episode on E!, saying that Rebekah will be conflicted if she will trust her mother.
"Can she possibly take that offer knowing that it would weaken her family's ability to fight Esther, knowing that her family might still need her and knowing that she is Hope's guardian? It's going to be very difficult for Rebekah to have to put aside her own desires in order to stay and maintain an alliance with her brothers when Esther is basically promising her everything she ever wanted," Narducci said.
Will Rebekah give in to her desires and trust her mother, or should she continue fighting against Esther with her brothers?
Meanwhile, another series exec announced that a recurring cast member will become a mainstay for the remainder of the season.
Julie Plec, an executive producer of the show, told Entertainment Weekly that Yusuf Gatewood has been promoted to become a series regular in "The Originals." Gatewood plays the role of Finn Mikaelson, Klaus' possessed elder brother.
"The Originals" season 2 episode 8 airs on Nov. 24 on The CW.
