Despite their impending divorce, Alicia (Julianna Margulies) will still do anything to help keep her soon-to-be ex-husband Peter (Chris Noth) from being imprisoned in the next episode of "The Good Wife" season 7.
Alicia finally decided to file for divorce when Peter saw her with her new lover Jason Crouse (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) for the first time. But Peter asked her to postpone the divorce until after his trial. Alicia obliged, but it does not mean that there is still a chance to change her mind about legally ending their marriage.
In the upcoming episode titled "Verdict," Alicia will move heaven and hell to help keep Peter out of prison.
According to the synopsis for the episode, "As Peter's trial begins, Alicia works desperately to keep her husband from returning to jail. Also, Diane (Christine Baranski) and Lucca (Cush Jumbo) move aggressively to expand the law firm, but face serious opposition from David Lee (Zach Grenier)."
Meanwhile, Margulies talked about how she felt when filming the final moments of the series. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress said that the cast unfortunately have to shoot the final scene for the finale first because of their conflicting schedule, which was very brutal. She also teased the scene that fans should look forward to in the finale episode of "The Good Wife" series.
"At the beginning of the series, there was Alicia, standing by the side of her man. For the finale, the Kings did something so brilliant with the way she reacts to how they're standing at the podium once again," the actress said. "I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but you'll see a very subtle thing at the end that she does physically with Peter that's very different from when you first met the two of them. There's definitely a callback to the first episode."
Margulies also told People that she is intending to keep Alicia's office chair and actually bought the watch that her character wore in the series after they filmed the series finale.
"The Good Wife" season 7 episode 21 airs on Sunday, May 1, on CBS.
