After Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) travelled back in time to save his mother from Reverse Flash in the second season finale, actor Carlos Valdes teased that things will be different in "The Flash" season 3.

During his panel appearance at MegaCon, the actor who portrays the role of Cisco Ramon in the series teased the changes that will happen next season.

"All I'm going to tell you is things are going to be different, way different," the actor told the panel, as reported by ComicBook. "Not in a bad way; I think in a really exciting way, and it's that difference that's going to inform Barry's trajectory throughout the season, and I think people are going to like it."

The changes that Valdes was talking about could be the result of Barry's decision to change the past. This could also lead the plot of the series to take on the plot of popular DC Comics arc "Flashpoint," where Barry wakes up in a darker, alternate universe where twisted versions of the heroes and villains exist.

But while The CW remains mum about the possibility of using the "Flashpoint" arc in the TV series, sources revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Tom Cavanagh has been promoted to series regular for season 3. This means that if the series will push through with "Flashpoint" next season, Earth-1 Harrison Wells (Cavanagh) and his wife are still alive and the original Wells will be featured in season 3.

Also, actor John Wesley Shipp revealed in a separate interview with the publication that his character Jay Garrick, also known as the man in the iron mask, is set to return next season.

"I've been given permission to say that yes, they have all kinds of exciting and interesting plans for me, that are interesting not only in the context of the storyline, but they continue to spin out, which will be very challenging for me as an actor," Shipp told EW. "That's all I'm allowed to say about that. But yes, I will be back next season."

"The Flash" season 3 is expected to premiere on The CW this fall.
