'The Flash' season 2 spoilers, plot news: Lady speedster makes Flash look bad in 'Trajectory'

"The Flash" season 2 is on a month-long hiatus but The CW already teased what's in store for Barry when the series returns. The next metahuman the scarlet speedster will be up against is another speedster, more specifically, a lady speedster.

Unlike Barry, this new speedster that goes by the name of Trajectory is using her abilities to carry out petty theft. Citizens of Central City are being robbed and they all think the real Flash is the one behind the crime.

Barry does not love all the bad publicity but if there's one person enjoying every minute of it all, it's Iris's new boss Scott Evans. The new editor of Central City Picture News declares that the flash "has gone rogue." He even thought of a title for their front page news – "from streak to freak."

Scott does not like the Flash. In fact, he thinks he is merely a phony. As what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told TV Line, Scott "can't stand" the superhero and he uses his new position in the newspaper to show this to others. The emergence of Trajectory in "The Flash" season 2 gives him the opportunity to "expose" the Flash.

This is also why Scott and Iris often clash. However, their different opinions of Flash won't get in the way of romance. Candice Patton, who plays Iris, has confirmed to TV Line that sparks between her character and Scott will be flying around in the next episodes of "The Flash" season 2.

"It's more on his part than hers, but it's the first time that Iris starts to deal with moving on from Eddie's [Rick Cosnett] death and being open to the idea that maybe her heart can finally move forward. The Scott Evans character is really the catalyst for that," the actress revealed.

Going back to Trajectory, Cisco and Barry are pretty excited about the idea of a lady speedster. In the promo for the upcoming episode of "The Flash" season 2, Barry said that he will get the speedster's number the "next time she punches me in the face."

In the DC Comics, Trajectory's alter ego is named Eliza Harmon, who begged Lex Luthor to grant her superspeed. The show appears to portray her as a scientist.

"The Flash" season 2 episode 16 "Trajectory" airs March 22 on CW.
