Sheldon Cooper's alter ego will be getting another recognition that he rightfully deserves. Times of San Diego reported Monday that Jim Parsons, the actor who portrays the role of the Texan theoretical physicist in "The Big Bang Theory" and an alumnus of the University of San Diego, will be receiving the Arthur E. Hughes Career Achievement Award from the College of Arts and Science this April.

Parsons, who graduated with a Master's in Fine Arts degree offered by The Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program back in 2001, is also a four-time Emmy Award and Golden Globe award winner for his role in the hit CBS sitcom.

Just like his character Sheldon who received multiple awards as a former child prodigy in Physics, Parsons also earned several recognitions from various TV and movie award giving bodies, including the Critics Choice Television Awards, Teen Choice Award, and TCA Awards.

The actor was given his own star on the Hollywood Walk of fame on March 12, and his co-stars from "The Big Bang Theory" was present during the unveiling ceremony to support him, including Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Mayim Bialik, Kunal Nayyar, Simon Helberg, Melissa Rauch, and Johnny Galecki.

Aside from shooting for the episodes for "The Big Bang Theory" season 8, Parsons is also busy promoting his new animated film "Home," where he lent his voice for the character named Oh. In one of his recent interviews during his film promotion, the actor shared that his dream guest star for their CBS sitcom is comedienne Lisa Kudrow.

"I've always thought about [Kudrow] for the show," Parsons stated. "I don't know in what part. I'll leave that to the writers, but I just am a big fan of hers and I would love them to have her on."

His "Home" co-stars Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna also expressed their intentions of guesting in the critically acclaimed comedy sometime in the future.

In the meantime, "The Big Bang Theory" is on a short break, and will return on April 2.
