'The Affair' season 3 premiere date, spoilers: Is Helen still desperate to make Noah come back?

 Showtime

Noah (Dominic West) will reportedly welcome a new woman in his life, but speculations claim that he and his ex-wife Helen (Maura Tierney) might get back together in "The Affair" season 3.

In an interview with TVGuide, Tierney revealed that her character still wants to have Noah back in spite of his infidelity and his decision to leave her and her kids to begin a new life with Alison (Ruth Wilson). This could mean that Helen might still be a little obsessed with her former husband.

"For Noah, the marriage is over, and I don't think that there's even a lot of love existing there. For Helen, it's sort of turned into more of an obsession," Tierney said. "It seems like she's moved on. She has a new boyfriend. ... But really, the truth is, she's kind of desperately just holding it together. And she has developed a sort of obsessive need for her ex-husband. She feels like that's going to solve all of her problems."

However, Noah will reportedly have a new love interest in season 3.

During the Television Critics Association press tour early this month, series co-creator Sarah Treem confirmed that French actress Irène Jacob was tapped to portray the role of Juliette Le Gall, Noah's new love interest. According to the character description that was reported by Variety, Juliette is a person "who is running from her own secrets and who helps Noah process a trauma from his past and understand himself a little better."

This does not mean that Noah will cheat on Alison when the series returns for season 3. According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the third season will feature a significant time jump after the second season. This could mean that Noah and Alison might have split up during the season break.

"The Affair" season 3 is slated to premiere on Nov. 20.
