After learning that "Black Sail" alum Zach McGowan was cast in a recurring role in the third season of "The 100" back in July, fans are now looking forward to know what his character will bring to the chaotic world of the survivors in the post-apocalyptic series.

According to the casting announcement shared by The Wrap, the actor will portray the character named Roan in "The 100" season 3. Roan is described as a scoundrel Grounder warrior "who will stop at nothing to get what he wants."

Nothing has been said further about McGowan's character after the casting news, which fuels the curiosity of the fans to learn more about the potential troublemaker for the Grounders in season 3.

But recently, "The 100" series creator Jason Rothenberg and writer Shawna Benson finally shed the light on Roan's characteristics when fans asked them on Twitter.

When a fan asked the series creator to divulge any information about Roan, Rothenberg vaguely teased how the character will be introduced in the series.

Meanwhile, Benson avoided giving too much information about Roan when a fan asked her what she can share about Roan by describing how perfect McGowan is for the role.

A fan also asked her if McGowan will chop off his long locks for the series, but the writer said that she has no idea if he did. However, she reiterated that Roan is a Grounder, which means that long-haired men are typical among the tribe.

"The 100" season 3 will deal with the aftermath of the recently concluded war between the refugees and the people from Mount Weather. According to the official synopsis for the season, the peaceful situation after the war will be short-lived, and no one will stay the same after the war. "First, they fought to survive. Then, they fought for their friends. Now, they will fight for the human race," an excerpt from the synopsis stated.

The CW will air the premiere episode of "The 100" season 3 in early 2016.
