'Teen Wolf' season 5 spoilers: Scott-Stiles discord works to Theo's advantage in episode 5

Danger is lurking in Beacon Hills, and the leaders of its resident werewolf pack may be too busy with their falling out to notice.

During the panel appearance of the "Teen Wolf" cast at the San Diego Comic-Con last week, series showrunner Jeff Davis said that the friendship between Scott (Tyler Posey) and Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) will be challenged this season.

According to Davis, "Something happens in episode 5 at the beginning of the episode that causes a rift between Scott and Stiles."

This could be very detrimental to the safety of their pack, especially since there is someone who is looking for any signs of weakness to break into the strong bond between the Beacon Hills' resident werewolves.

Davis added that new guy Theo (Cody Christian) will use Scott and Stiles' misunderstandings to his advantage as the spy for the Dread Doctors. And while the wolfpack is gearing for their upcoming battle against the Dread Doctors, Scott will lose his focus this season.

Posey revealed during the Comic-Con panel that his character's fate may not look promising this season, saying, "He normally knows what he's doing and has a plan of action for everything...but things are falling apart around him."

Dylan Sprayberry added that his character Liam will also have a conflict with Scott. However, the cast and the series showrunner were mum about the reasons for the characters' discord in "Teen Wolf" season 5.

But aside from Scott and Stiles' upcoming fight, the Beacon Hills pack will also have to deal with the mystery surrounding the Dread Doctors in the episode called "A Novel Approach." The official synopsis of the episode reads: "The pack enters Eichen House in order to learn more about the Dread Doctors."

Will they find out what the strange doctors are up to?

"Teen Wolf" season 5 episode 5 will air on Monday, July 20, on MTV.
