New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner is caught in another sexting scandal with a woman named Sydney Elaine Leathers.

The 23-year-old from Indiana admitted that Weiner continued to sext after he resigned from Congress in 2011 after his sexting scandal.

In an interview with Inside Edition, Leathers said she was shocked that he was "so foolish as to do the same thing all over again."

"He was making these campaign promises that he'd totally changed, that he was a better man now and had learned from his mistakes, and I am proof that that is not true."

She said she last spoke to Weiner on the phone in April and that he had texted her to request that she "hard delete all of our chats" ahead of his announcement to run for New York mayor. She said Weiner is trying to deceive New York voters about his behavior.

Meanwhile, photos Leathers sent to Weiner on Facebook have emerged, with one showing her wearing a lace thong. Leathers said she sent over 30 "naughty" photos to Weiner, who was very persistent in his picture requests, according to TMZ.

Weiner has announced that he will go ahead with his mayoral campaign despite the latest scandal.

His wife Huma Abedin has stood by his side and appeared publicly by her husband's side at a press conference this week. Many are criticizing her for her decision to support Weiner despite the latest sexting scandal.

"New Yorkers will have to decide for themselves whether or not to give him a second chance. I had to make that same decision for myself," she said. "And I know in my heart that I made the right one. Quite simply, I love my husband, I love my city and I believe in what he wants to do for the people of New York."
