Toby's (Lucas Grabeel) problems will pile up in the upcoming episode of "Switched at Birth" season 4.
In episode 13 titled "Between Hope and Fear," Regina (Constance Marie) will be uncomfortable with Eric's (Terrell Tilford) proposition of moving in together despite Daphne's (Katie Leclerc) approval, while John (D.W. Moffett) will lash out at Toby after his son asks him for some financial support.
The official synopsis for the episode reads:
Daphne is thrilled when Eric asks Regina to move in with him, but Regina is troubled by how little she knows about the mother of Eric's son, Will, and decides to go to Atlanta to find out more about the woman. John's financial stresses come to a head when Toby approaches the family for support, prompting John to lash out at him. Bay (Vanessa Marano) is surprised to learn she and Daphne have opposing opinions about how to deal with the pregnancy. Meanwhile, Travis (Ryan Lane) goes to Los Angeles to visit Emmett (Sean Berdy) and is dismayed to find Emmett has gone 'Hollywood.'"
One of the teasers clearly shows that Regina is having a great time with her relationship with Eric, but it seems she is not excited when he asks her to move in together. She feels that she still has to learn more about his ex-wife, which is why she heads over to Atlanta to know more about her.
Meanwhile, Toby and Lily (Rachel Shenton) seem to be contemplating eliminating the baby after they found out that it has Down syndrome since they both believe that they cannot take care of the child in the future.
Toby discusses their plans with his biological sister Daphne, but she is not happy with it. Daphne believes that they will be making a bad decision if they terminate the pregnancy. She uses herself as an example, saying that her physical challenge does not stop her from following her dream. Toby tells her that being deaf is different from having Down syndrome, but Daphne still believes that the baby could still change their lives for the better despite all the challenges.
However, Toby seems to get the sympathy of his legal sister Bay, who actually supports his decision. This puts Bay and Daphne in completely opposing views.
On the other hand, Toby is at the receiving end of his father's wrath after he asks him for financial help. John has been having a lot of problems financially, and has been keeping it a secret from the family for quite a while. That is why his emotions suddenly explode when Toby asks him for money.
"Switched at Birth" season 4 episode 13 will air on Monday, Sept. 7, on ABC.
